Lofoten, land of many rainbows

We were not to be disappointed – the weather was great by recent standards and the island (or islands) of Lofoten stunning. We saw countless rainbows, sandy beaches and rocky cliffs overlooking crystal-clear water as we wound our way from picnic spot to ever more scenic picnic spot. Not wanting to rush back to the mainland, we called halt when we got to a campsite on the water’s edge while the sun was still high in the sky (or as high as it gets in these parts).

An afternoon of tidying, cleaning, faffing and we were set for another day of meandering in the direction of Nordkapp. The wind picked up a bit overnight and we awoke this morning in the back of the Tinker Beast feeling like we were still out on the North Sea. But the sun has made an appearance again and it looks like a fun day ahead.
