Back to the mainland

After another fairly leisurely day and more sunshine, showers and rainbows we found a wild camp that was at least on a par with the best we’d had so far – a large plot of land down by the river, with the requisite trees for the tarp and a view that got clearer and more exciting as the evening went on.

Awaking to another dry morning, we both felt Nordkapp calling so we packed up and continued north. We made it all the way from Setermoen to just south of Alta with the sky almost worryingly blue…

…the longer it lasted the more we feared a change in fortunes when we most needed the weather to be on our side. Our next stop would be Nordkapp – and an 18km hike out to the real Cape Cold. Rain in some form or another would be almost inevitable, but harsh winds would be dangerous and a bit of a view really rather nice!
