We woke to a beautiful but chilly morning in the woods, so laid another fire and warmed up before setting off to Hjerkinn, on the southern edge of the Dovrefjell. Before we’d had a chance to enquire about it we came across a sign to the reindeer observation centre so took a trudge up to admire the building, if not the view. It started snowing almost as soon as we got out of the truck and there was a thin layer of powder all around – unfortunately not enough for snowball fights or hopscotch, but beautiful nonetheless. As was the observation centre (good job Rob).

The Snohetta mountain was apparently towering right in front of us – and there was no sign of the reindeer/musk ox – but you can’t have it all.
